We actually stayed in Johor Bahru (Malaysia), where my uncle lives. Since it's located pretty much next to Singapore, we can go to S'pore by bus. And indeed we went there - every day.

My cousin even got arrested by the customs once, because he went to Singapore every day and he always brought with him so many things that he bought there. The Malaysian customs probably thought he's a smuggler or something, ha.
Then they realized that his passport is Indonesian, not Malaysian.... :P

Singapore seems to have everything for everyone. If you have kids, they have places for kids. We went to <strike>SeaWorld</strike> Underwater World once. Pretty impressive - I think only SeaWorld Jakarta is able to rival it. If you're a geek, it's a geek heaven. Gadgets everywhere, all the latest ones. I think my cousin got bored everytime we went to Lucky Plaza or Sim Lim Tower.
If you're a culinary maniac, S'pore got all sorts of food. From the street stalls selling Arab to Malaysian food, to the expensive restaurants. If you're into shopping, this city is for you! My cousin felt sad when we had to go back to Indonesia, he enjoyed being in S'pore immensely.

It's very easy to go to places in S'pore. We enjoyed its MRT / subway very much. It enabled us to go around VERY quickly, and the price is right too. I won't even recommend going around by car, it's juts too much hassle (especially on peak hours, the traffic jam can be rather bad).
Don't be hasty though - my sister once jumped in a train without really looking first (because the train was about to leave already), and she ended up going in the wrong direction. LOL... it was scary at first, we were frozen on our feet, looking at her scared face on the leaving train.
Then, we realized that we have the passports :) so that's not a problem then! Ha ha... true enough, after waiting for a while, my sister returned back to that train station.

At least stay there for 3 days, since there are so much to see. A week would be better, since you'll be able to go around without haste, just enjoying the scene. And since S'pore is a transport hub, airline ticket price tend to be cheaper than to other similar destinations.
Also if you're an English speaker, you'll feel at home straight away, since almost everyone is able to speak English there.

OK that's all for now, cheers!

Haven - Golden Sands

Last year, my hubby had this clever idea. "Why don't we go on holiday when it's not holiday - so we can have the place all for ourselves !".

I think it was April. We want a different holiday, and we were interested in staying in a caravan (we never tried it before). So we browsed Haven's website, and stumbled on its Late Deals section. We couldn't believe the price - it was about 129 GBP for 4 days, for the whole family. Whoa.
And Golden Sands looks fabulos indeed.

So we purchased the holiday, and prepared ourselves for it. The kids were ecstatic.

After a few hours' journey, we finally arrived there. There are LOADS of caravans at this place!
Even though we arrived outside of office hours, there were people that greeted us. We found our caravan in no time, and started to unload our baggages.

The caravan looks big from outside, but rather crampy from inside. It looks good though, and very nice. Nice bed, cosy living room, and a kitchen to prepare our meals.
Then we went to the beach.

It was cold, lol. It's very cold that no way we can swim in it. So we just played with the sand.
Thankfully, there's a very nice indoor (heated! Thank God) swimming pool. The kids can't have enough of it.
There are also playground, children's club, sports facilities, coin arcade, restaurants, small corner shop, etc. For more details, check out the pictures. Quite complete, at least for one's daily needs, which is very necessary since the place is pretty secluded. This is quite important if (for example) you're on a special diet - you'll be well advised to bring loads of your necessities, since it may not be available there.
Unfortunately, at off peak times, there are no live entertainments. But the kids can live with it, they're quite happy with the other facilities.

However, then the sun set, and we found out another thing - it's freezing cold inside a caravan !
lol... nobody was able to sleep in the bedroom. Well, it's not really summer yet (it's my hubby's fault again, as usual). It seems that a caravan is not as well-insulated as a normal house.
We ended up sleeping in the living room (where the heater is located), hugging each other.
(later we found out that we can rent extra heater from the main office)

Other than that small problem, it's quite a nice holiday. We're looking forward to another of this, but next time it will be on summer! (glances at dear hubby)

Cheers!

Welcome !

Welcome to my brand new blog !
